HALDIMAND COUNTY · TN EVIDENCE

Turn a proposed Hamilton TN offer into a list of documented claims

USAvisa field guide · 3 minute readReviewed 7 September 2026
THE SHORT ANSWER

Before an employer finalizes a TN offer letter, identify every claim the file needs to prove: citizenship, an identified professional position and the specific qualification the listed occupation requires. Assign each claim a document and a person who can confirm it. That produces a genuinely reviewable file instead of a more polished description of the same unverified facts. Hypothetical example: A hydrologist receives a cross-border consulting offer with a broad title and three different duty lists. The concrete decision is whether the employer will adopt one truthful, detailed account of the professional work before anyone asks an officer to classify it. Begin by identifying the listed profession that is actually being claimed, then make a document matrix that assigns each fact to a primary record and a responsible signer. This process reveals whether the packet proves the legal conditions or merely repeats an attractive conclusion.

01

Start with the duty that is hardest to classify

Hypothetical example: a Hamilton applicant's offer blends technical analysis with day-to-day operational coordination. Ask the hiring manager to describe an ordinary week and the concrete deliverables expected. Keep both kinds of duties in the working notes so the reviewer can assess the real position rather than a title chosen first with inconvenient duties left out afterward. Ask the manager to mark which duties consume most of the week and which are occasional. The deciding record is the contemporaneous job description confirmed by the person who supervises the work. If that record cannot support the proposed profession, choose a different lawful strategy rather than suppressing the inconvenient tasks.

02

Keep employer facts and credential facts in separate lanes

The employer confirms the role, pay and expected duration; the applicant supplies the actual qualification and identity records. Retain original credential documents and confirm which specific listed-occupation requirement applies before assuming a translation or evaluation is needed. An employer's enthusiasm for a candidate is not evidence of a degree or licence. Number the credential, identity, and employer exhibits separately and identify the qualification rule each credential is intended to satisfy. Decide early whether an original-language record needs translation or specialized assessment. A bundle fails to persuade when the reviewer must infer why a document was included.

03

Resolve inconsistencies before anyone signs anything

Compare the offer letter, any client or agency agreement, and the proposed support letter side by side. Ask whoever issued each document to explain any material difference, and disclose ownership interests and the real employment relationship. The finished file should describe the actual job, with open questions flagged for legal review rather than papered over with consistent-sounding language. Before final signature, compare dates, salary, worksite, supervisor, and employer identity across every document. The decision is whether a discrepancy is immaterial or needs a corrected source record. Do not solve a real inconsistency by silently editing a later letter; preserve the explanation.
